Guy #1: "Let me know if you're out for NYE and want to meet up." Oh dear, has he never spent NYE in a large city? You can't exactly bar hop on a night where even the dingiest bars charge cover.
Guy #2: We have been communicating for a couple of days. He boldly asked if I'd be up for early evening drinks before heading to separate NYE festivities. It was a cute invite but I had to politely decline. He responded, "Oh well. Sorry I asked." So after 2 days of fun banter, he got pissy because I turned down drinks, for which he'd given me 8 hours notice.
Whether your NYE is a black-tie affair or a clothing-optional affair, have a wonderful evening!!

Bad form on them! People make plans for New Years months in advance. I can't believe they would be offended that you wouldn't be free, even early in the evening. Tsk tsk, boys...
Exactly! Granted, my NYE came together about 12 hours in advance, but it's quite an imposition to ask for a first (blind) date on NYE.
My NYE was just drinks at friends but two of us got food poisioning. I went home by 10 and was puking by just after 12. FUN!!!
Awww man! I was about to give the second guy props until I read the second half of the paragraph. Come on, dude! You deserve a less passive-aggresive man.
