His response, “The only day I’m free this week is Thursday. However, I think we should just do it next week. I don’t want people to think we’re on a date for Valentine’s Day.”
So, so many things wrong with this (even though Valentine's Day is a Hallmark invention):
- A date on Valentine’s Day is not the same as a date for Valentine’s Day
- Does it matter what “people” think?
- If being out on Valentine’s Day does bother him, why couldn’t he simply just say he’s busy this week and suggest the next one? Why elaborate?
